Abstract
A cavity-backed circularly polarized slot antenna is presented with a simple feed design. The antenna has right handed circular polarization and operates at 2.5 GHz. The antenna can be easily integrated on the solar panels of a cube satellite without occupying additional surface area of the satellite. The measured axial ratio is less than 3 dB and has a good gain that is sufficient for a cube satellite application. The antenna and the feed design are simple and can be easily extended to array configuration for integration with larger solar panels.
