Abstract
In RFID (radio frequency identification) system, signal transmission environment could not be ignored as fast identification is critical. The general channel modeling method is presented in this paper and the fading effect is introduced into OPNET-based RFID network simulation by modifying the bit error rate value, which reflects the channel environment efficiently. For Aloha-based RFID system, a simple Rician fading channel models are demonstrated in the designed simulation network. In the numerical simulation the identification time could be calculated to validate the proposed wireless channel modeling.
