Abstract
This paper describes an evolutionary algorithm for the design of good multivalued logic (MVL) circuits based on genetic algorithms. A method for deriving low-cost realizations, based on the cost-table technique, is presented. A new cost-table is also proposed that results in better realizations than that obtained in the past. With genetic algorithms the design of MVL circuits can be handled as an optimization problem
