Abstract
An enhanced Smith control structure which is composed of a fuzzy model and a digital fuzzy filter is proposed. Based on this structure, two functional mechanisms, i.e., fuzzy model updating and fuzzy controller tuning, are applied to reduce the model mismatch and to improve system performance. An experimental result using an analog simulator is illustrated. It shows that the proposed structure can control a perturbed time-delay system well with an identified fuzzy model and a fuzzy controller tuning mechanism
