Abstract
Memory problems are tightly associated with ageing. Most elders suffer from different levels of memory decline, from severe to mild. For supporting the independent living and prompting the quality of life of the elderly, assistant technology has been identified as a promising approach to address these challenges, which is able to provide necessary help to elders in appropriate time. This paper investigates the unobtrusive assistant technique. We propose a behavior model to describe the activities of the forgetful elderly. Based on this model, we develop an unobtrusive assistant, which provides reminders according to elders¿ practical needs, and avoids unnecessary notifications that will disrupt the elders¿ life. The preliminary experiments evaluate the effectiveness of our approach.
