Abstract
A coplanar waveguide-fed butterfly-shaped slot antenna is proposed for dual-frequency operation. The butterfly shape is formed by cutting notches on the upper portion of a conventional bowtie slot. The occupied antenna area is thus reduced and the slot is resonating at two different frequencies. Both simulated and experimental results for reflection coefficient and radiation pattern are presented and discussed.
