Abstract :
In this paper, gating and riser system of large complicated steel casting of the studied were designed firstly, then temperature and flow fields of this casting in a casting process were simulated and analyzed, and generation of shrinkage and porosity during solidification process was predicted. Finally, a more reasonable gating and riser system was obtained by analysis of simulation results. The research results in this paper have certain guiding significances for the determination of casting technology of large complicated steel castings in practical productions.
