Abstract :
RiiSS2011 is aimed at bringing together scientists, engineers and students from around the world to discuss the latest advances in the field of robot intelligence under the umbrella of informationally structure space, which is coined by the emerging synthesis of information technology, network technology, and robotics technology. It has been identified as one of the most promising approaches to realize a safe, secure, and comfortable society for the next generation. The research line has been driven by the emergent techniques. Human-centered systems require sophisticated physical and information services that are based on sensor networks, ubiquitous computing, and intelligent artifacts. The environment surrounding people and robots is required to have a structured platform for gathering, storing, transforming, and providing information. It is evident that a joint cross-disciplinary effort would push the frontiers of research forward. We hope RiiSS11 would inspire your own research and advance the state of the art in the multidisciplinary field of informationally structured space.
