  • Abstract
This study examines how authority submission and abusive supervision influence subordinates´ supervisor-directed deviance. Using a sample of supervisor-subordinate dyads in six manufacturing companies, we found that (1) abusive supervision was positively related to subordinates´ supervisor-directed deviance; (2) authority submission moderated the association between abusive supervision and supervisor-directed deviance, such that the relationship was stronger among low traditionalists than among high traditionalists. Implications of the findings are offered.
