  • Abstract
    With the development of spatial information technology, remote sensing data processing has become a kind of important service to the public. Traditional processing mode with one single machine and one software can´t meet the demand of various requirements and high performance processing though there exist various isolated remote sensing resources such as data, software over network. Grid is a infrastructure for resource-sharing which uses the resources of many separate computers connected by a network to solve large-scale computation problems. Grid computing is the technology for problem solving based on grid. Extending the processing to grid is the trend of remote sensing data processing. In this paper, the architecture of service oriented remote sensing data processing grid is proposed and a grid prototype system is implemented based on Globus Toolkit 4.2(GT4). A heterogeneous image fusion service is implemented and taken as an example design of advanced remote sensing data processing grid service.
