Abstract
A compact planar dipole antenna is achieved by spiral loading and meandering the dipole arms Next, for this spiral loaded dipole (SLD) antenna, frequency configurability is investigated using ideal copper ribbon switches. The frequencies of interests are 750MHz, 1800MHz and 2400MHz. is the prototype antenna with these ideal switches was fabricated and experimental verification was performed and some of which are included in this paper.
