Abstract :
The simple two-dimensional theoretical model of a conducting screen with a periodic array of rectangular holes is developed. It is discovered that the narrow extraordinary transmission peak which occurs at frequencies closed to the first Rayleigh-Wood anomaly is caused by the Fabry-Perot resonance of the fundamental eigenmode propagated in the holes.
