Abstract
The 3D-GIS is one of the emerging issues in GIS and IT fields because it provides new solutions in many application areas today. Most of the research and commercial packages for 3D-GIS can handle only simple features. For many applications, functionalities for handling complex features are necessary. In this paper, we suggest an efficient method for manipulating complex features and applied it to building features in 3D-GIS. The key concept of the applied method is the general features which can be simple features or complex features and is defined by the user. We applied this method to the facility management system supporting floor-based search and analysis
