  • Abstract
This paper presents a new approach to reduce the radar cross section (RCS) of a slot patch antenna. The differential evolution algorithm (DE) is used to optimize the location and the length of the slots on the patch to reduce the RCS of the antenna in a broad frequency range of 2-10 GHz. In addition, the use of a band-stop Frequency Selective Surface on the edges of the ground plane helps achieve better performance and obtain lower RCS. MATLAB and FEKO are the two softwares which have been used and a new way to combine the capabilities of these softwares is introduced.
