Abstract :
The authors present a fuzzy logic approach to a decision-support system with the benefit of human expertise in the naval domain in which the velocities of the mobiles are sufficiently slow. They consider the problem of maneuver-aid to track a target. The classical approaches use mathematical models with simplifying assumptions, but the tracking process cannot be rigorously defined, as it is an approximate reasoning process. An approach using a fuzzy logic knowledge-based system is proposed. The method consists of characterizing the behavior of human operators and incorporating this behavior in a fuzzy logic decision-aid system. A fuzzy logic development environment has been realized. The fuzzy logic approach is justified by very satisfactory results obtained on simulations
