Abstract :
We report the spatial analysis of nonlinear optical effects in potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) and electrooptic effect in lithium niobate (LiNbO3) crystals. Calculations of the electrooptical anisotropy in LiNbO3 are supported by experimental measurements verifying the directional dependence of the electrooptical properties in this crystal. Employing the spatial 3D-analysis to the indicative surfaces the extreme directions characterizing by maximal magnitudes of these effects are found. A good agreement between the experiment and calculations confirms correctness of relevant approaches.
