Abstract :
Multipath propagation is widely recognized as the main error source in differential GPS applications. This paper shows a multipath estimation/elimination technique for reducing both code and carrier multipath errors. An adaptive filtering process is used for estimating the parameters of direct plus multipath signals. Multipath elimination is, then, performed by substracting the estimated multipath effects from the measured correlation function. Simulation results show that the proposed technique is a viable solution for obtaining high accuracies even in multipath propagating environments
