Abstract
As implied in its name lean manufacturing is a process which optimizes the relationship between resources, human and material, and the output in order to maximize customer satisfaction and profits. It can be adapted to all manufacturing situations from the job shop environment to the high volume single product or multi-product factory. Three case studies illustrating each one of these scenarios are discussed
