Abstract
The aim of this paper is to detect the impact of spatial resolution of remotely sensed data on land cover characteristics reflected by them. NOAA/AVHRR NDVI images with 1 km, 4 km and 8 km were employed to described the land cover pattern taking the west of the IGBP´s Northeast China Transect (NECT) as the study area. The spatial patterns of regional land cover revealed by 3 images are consistent, but boundary, shape, complexity and number of land cover type patches are different greatly.
