New Trends in ESM/ELINT Airborne Sensors

This article describes the main technical and technological tracks followed by Thomson-CSF Radars & Contre-Mesures in the airborne ESM/ELINT field to fulfill the new customer´s requirements. We will show that two conflicting requirements must be fulfilled : ¿ performance improvement, ¿ weight and cost reduction. The compromise depends on the type or the purpose of the mission (tactical or technical) and of the carrier (from light UAV to SIGINT aircraft).
