Abstract
Contention resolution (CR) in optical burst switching (OBS) networks is a hot topic in research community. However, most previous research is done within the local switching node. We investigate integrated CR scheme in OBS networks based on generalized multiprotocol label switching (GMPLS). At first a new network model is proposed, in which label switched path (LSP) is just composed of a series of links and not assigned any wavelength, and the wavelengths are decided when core routers process the control packet. And then we propose a novel scheme, i.e., load-balancing contention resolution (LBCR) scheme. Simulations show that LBCR can reduce bursts contention and burst loss probability.
