Abstract :
To increase the lifetime of vacuum insulators in pulsed power facility, composite material vacuum insulators have been studied in our lab. This new composite material vacuum insulators will be used in lager pulsed power facility. The composite insulators consist of a base material of epoxy and coating material of epoxy composite. The base insulators withstand the shock environment while the high voltage forced and water switch closed. Epoxy composite surface coating work in vacuum environment and develop to minimize the dendrite damage caused by the high pulse voltage and high energy electron environment. This paper will introduce the characteristic of coating materials and composite material vacuum insulator.
