Abstract
A simple method for cancellation of clutter due to objects in transceiver-side in through wall sensing applications is presented. Due to significant wall reflectivity, clutters are imaged in the same imaging area as the objects placed in behind of the wall and this makes it difficult to determine whether the object is in the front of or behind the wall. It is observed that the backscattered signal contains shifted copies of the transmitted pulse in which only the first two copies received from clutters have opposite signs. Assuming that the copies are separated in time, a simple method is presented for removing the first two copies from the clutters using GPOF technique. The proposed method is effective even for very noisy environments.
