Abstract :
Digital subtraction mammography is currently the only reliable technique to detect small tumors. But the inability to ensure exact positioning of the breast in the mammography machine every time, due to its loose and non-rigid nature, almost guarantees that any two images of the breast will not be matched. Hence the two images should be registered with each other before they can be subtracted. We propose a new registration algorithm using elastic stretching coupled with a pinning function
