Abstract :
This paper describes an innovative design of compact trigger generator with repetitive pulse to drive high voltage gas switch. The basic circuit of trigger generator is analyzed by using P-Spice software. The trigger generator consists of a charging capacitor, a pulse transformer, a trigger gas switch and a control circuit. The incorporate design of capacitor and transformer enables the generator to be compact, and the employing of IGBT switch makes the generator be operated stably. The output voltage of generator is up to 100KV at a pulse repetition rate of range 1Hz to 100Hz, and the during time of pulse is 1μs with a risetime of 500ns.
