Abstract
Medical decision making is characterized by varying degrees of complexities in medical information, medical literature search, medical groups, temporal association, the clinical reasoning process, the cognitive processes associated with medical decision making and other factors. Issues related to these complexities necessitates use of intelligent tools to identify and solve problems either synchronously or asynchronously by medical groups. The authors´ research has focused on the development of a tool-chest, named Medicalware, that offers a wide selection of decision making tools, assembled from various schools of medical decision making, integrated with NJIT´s (New Jersey Institute of Technology) computer-mediated communication system, EIES II (Electronic Information Exchange System II). This paper focuses on the integrated functioning of Medicalware and hypermedia supported EIES Il for diagnostic problem-solving and medical decision making
