Abstract :
This paper presents a 3D (dimension) scanning laser rangefinder and its application to an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV). The developed laser rangefinder performs horizontal scan and vertical scan by two scanning mechanisms. The scanning angles and velocities can be controlled by two servomechanisms. This makes it possible to change the scanning range and scanning speed when used in different situation, such as high-speed cruise and low-speed running in urban areas. In this paper the 3D scanning laser rangefinder is presented and the experiments are reported
