Abstract :
There is a great demand to support high resolution local video conference in today´s PCs. However, although PC is convenient and local access network bandwidth is sufficient, the computational capacity is a big bottleneck in high resolution laptop video conference system. Here, a feedback-based adaptive video coding algorithm named Template-Based Coding Algorithm (TBCA) is proposed for such a situation which can improve the utilization of computing resources by 10% and reduce the frequency of adjustment to a half. A high resolution laptop video conference system based on the TBCA is implemented with satisfactory user experiences.
