Abstract :
Frequency-shift decision feedback equalizer (FRESH-DFE) is a DFE in which the forward filter is replaced by a bank of frequency-shift (FRESH) adaptive filters. This would improve the DFE performance in a cyclostationary environment. FRESH-DFE can exploit the spectral redundancy of modulated signals. It also uses the feedback filter to remove the residual intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by earlier symbols. It is shown that the performance of the FRESH-DFE is superior to that of a DFE. This is particularly true in high adjacent channel interference
