CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellite) was contracted by ESA (European Space Agency) to develop the ocean geophysical reference processor of the ENVISAT radar altimeter. After briefly describing the different main processes, this paper presents the validation of this reference processor with real data from the TOPEX/Poseidon mission
