Abstract :
This paper will present a new planar dual-polarized radiating element for radar and communication systems. This new element incorporates a slot antenna within the radiating arms of a printed dipole. The resulting integrated element is simple, completely planar, and is capable of simultaneously receiving both Vertical and Horizontally polarized signals in an end-fire configuration. We beleve this represents the first dual polarized end-fire antenna element that is completely planar and compatibe with standard monolithic fabrication techniques.
