Abstract
Trellis-coded modulation is applied to code division multiple access spread-spectrum (SS) systems where a long pseudonoise (PN) sequence is employed to meet a large number of users. The performance of the trellis-coded QPSK/SS combatting multiple-access and tone interference is analyzed. The results obtained are compared to the conventional SS systems.<>
