Abstract
In this paper, a frequency scanning slotted waveguide array coupled to a microstrip antenna feeding network is presented. The waveguide has 8 non-radiating slots placed on the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide and their dimensions are adjusted to have a Chebychev excitation with a -30dB sidelobe level. Each slot is coupled to a printed transmission line terminated by a matched load where any kind of radiator can be connected. The field at the matched loads is calculated with HFSS and the results are used to compute the array factor. The main lobe is scanned by about 30 degrees for a frequency variation of only 0.5%. The beam is not scanned to broadside to avoid high reflections.
