Abstract :
To enlarge the reception area in millimeter-wave short range communication, the introduction of large waveguide slot array is under investigation. As an initial approach, the electric field intensity in the neighborhood of a uniformly distributed aperture source is examined. The wide and stable reception area is provided by the larger aperture antenna regardless of the reflected waves. Circularly-polarized waveguide slot antennas with different element numbers are designed at 60.5 GHz, are ready to be fabricated for further investigation.
