  • Abstract
    Wavelet packet transform can preserve more details for image denoising, but it always has the ‘wrap-around’ artifacts in image. Total variation, another effective image denoising method, can preserve edges better, but image texture information will be also smoothed. An efficient image denoising method based on combination of wavelet packet transform and total variation model is proposed, and how to select the regularization parameter in this model is given. The numerical experimental results show that the new method is effective is removing gauss noise and the detail of the image is kept well.
