Abstract :
The nonlinear mapping ability of the polynomial perceptron (PP) is analyzed, which shows that any continuous functions can be approximated with any given accuracy by the polynomial perceptron with small degree L(L/spl ges/2) and the nonlinear mapping ability of PP is approximately the same as that of the multilayer perceptron (MLP). The PP model is applied to 16QAM digital mobile communication reception systems for adaptively equalizing the multipath fading channel and suppressing interference simultaneously. Computer simulations have been carried out and experimental results are given.<>
