Abstract :
A hybrid automatic request for repetition (ARQ) for high-throughput efficiency in digital mobile radio data transmission is introduced. The main feature of this ARQ scheme is its unique error detection scheme. As a product code can be used for error correction, the proposed scheme utilizes two cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes for locating multiple erroneous blocks. This enables the ARQ to minimize the block length without increasing the overhead ratio. Each erroneous block is recovered by using a type-II hybrid ARQ scheme. As a result, a significantly high level of throughput efficiency can be obtained in high bit error conditions
