Abstract :
The features of single layer frequency selective surfaces are explored for nimble antenna applications. The transmission response of an active planar array of periodic discontinuous strips is theoretically and analytically investigated and the possible reconfiguration schemes dictated by the required DC-biasing lines of switches are identified. Then, pros and cons of each scheme in developing nimble antennas are revealed and discussed.
