Abstract :
The frame timing acquisition, which is important for the time division duplex (TDD) mode of transmission in direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) communications, is studied. In the TDD-DS-SS system, the frame timing and base station signal must be obtained in the presence of interference from other mobile users. It is shown that acquisition of noncontinuous TDD signals is possible after transmission of a few acquisition bursts. Computer simulation techniques are used to evaluate the performance of this method
