Abstract :
In the study of congestion control for asynchronous transfer mode types of transport, traffic characteristic of the sources is important parameters. The variable bit rate (VBR) video signal is simulated using a generic continuous-data autoregressive (AR) Markov model from Maglaris et al. (1987) A simple approach is developed to predict the behaviour of multiplexing several video signals such that the resulting signal loss can be estimated without resorting to time consuming simulation techniques.<>
