Abstract :
The advantages of an hp-adaptive scheme for variational problems are theoretically well established. However, the ability to construct such a scheme for surface integral equations have been precluded by the need of the meshes to conform to the surface of the scatterer and the close relationship between the basis functions and the tessellation. We present an hp-refinement strategy for integral equations based on a our recent advances in the Generalized Method of Moments that eliminates both these limitations. We present results on manual hp-refinement here and more detailed analysis on automatic refinement at the conference.
