Abstract :
This paper describes in detail the hardware implementation of the satellite mobile channel simulator, it demonstrates its performance, and it discusses the essential problems encountered and the approaches used to resolve these problems, e.g. the multi-rate and the parallel processing techniques applied. The paper also underlines how this simulator can be used in space diversity systems, e.g. it explains how two Rician fading signals can be generated and how the correlation of these two signals can be set. The simulator can be readily connected to the serial port of an ordinary personal computer and accept different channel parameters. According to the experimental testing so far of the simulator, a very satisfactory performance is reported
