Abstract :
The experimental results of a four-cavity Ka-band gyroklystron amplifier operating in TE011 mode at the fundamental of the cyclotron frequency are presented. The gyroklystron has produced 260 KW peak output power, saturated gains of 38 dB and 35% efficiency with 68 KV, 11 A annular electron beams. The full width half maximum (FWHM) bandwidth is greater than 300MHz. The amplifier is zero drive stable. Experimental results are found to be in excellent agreement with theoretical predictions.
