Abstract :
This paper proposes a simulation method to assess air conditioning load, and at the same time takes comfort into consideration. By analyzing load and comfort, we can obtain an appropriate design parameter to decrease energy consumption. Firstly, we use the traditional method to calculate values of Predicted mean vote (PMV) and Predicted percentage dissatisfied (PPD) with different temperature (T) and humidity (H). And results indicate that temperature is a significant factor to comfort by analyzing the relationship between comfort and temperature. Secondly, we simulate a university building´s hourly cooling load in summer design day (July 21) by using Designer´s Simulation Toolkit (DeST), and results indicate that humidity is a significant factor to load by analyzing the relationship between load and humidity. Finally, we take comfort and load into consideration, and analyze influence of temperature and humidity. We obtain appropriate indoor temperature and humidity parameter which not only can satisfy human body´s thermal comfort requirements, but also can reduce air conditioning load.
