Abstract
The simulation of nonlinear RF/microwave circuits driven by modulated carriers is tackled by a novel harmonic-balance (HB) technique. The electrical regime is described as a sequence of RF steady states slowly changing with time at the rate of the baseband modulating signals. Each RF state is coupled to a small number of neighboring sampling instants, and the nonlinear HB system is efficiently solved by the inexact-Newton harmonic-balance (INHB) method In the case of periodic modulation laws the modulation steady state is directly addressed, so that the signal spectra may be accurately and quickly computed by the FFT.
