Abstract :
This paper proposes an algorithm of constructing planar quartic Bézier curve with four shape parameters in discretionary tangent polygon, and curve segments are joined together with G1-continuity (first order geometrical continuity). Bézier curve segments are all shape-preserving to their tangent polygons. In a certain range, every curve segment can be adjusted by controlling parameters of the shape and parameters of control vertex. Finally, examples illustrate that the method given in this paper is effective.
