Abstract :
This paper considers leakage through a very thin slot such as that formed by an overlapped painted seam in an electrical cabinet. It is first shown that only certain waveguide modes can propagate through such a slot. Next, far field radiation from the slot is discussed followed by a description of coupling of energy into the starting end of the slot. Finally, metal losses are considered.
