Abstract :
In mobile communication systems, due to practical frequency wave propagation, there are zones in the selected area, where signal coverage is not adequately accomplished by the base-station. These dead spots are valleys, tunnels on highways and railway tracks. Repeaters are typically viewed as a solution to this problem. We examine repeaters from a slightly different perspective, investigating how, when used in a flat terrain environment they not only extend signal coverage, but impact system performance as well
