Abstract :
We present a contrast source inversion (CSI) algorithm using a wavelet representation. In order to reduce the number of wavelet coefficients in the inversion, we apply a truncation scheme based on the well-known parent-child relationship between wavelet coefficients in different levels. We tested the wavelet-domain CSI algorithm using both synthetic and experimental data. The wavelet-domain CSI method becomes more robust as we deal with cases where the number of data is significantly smaller than the number of unknown contrast function. Furthermore, the proposed method also decreases the computational time as well as the memory usage of the algorithm.
