Abstract :
Results of experimental research concerning the breakdown voltage of vacuum circuit breaker contact gap after making current and no-load contact opening are presented in the paper. Such experiments are necessary to evaluate the influence of switching operations on the dielectric strength of vacuum contact gap and to find a mechanism of electrical breakdown in the gap in these conditions.
